Actor Warwick Davis — undoubtedly one of the most prolific and famous actors under four feet tall in cinematic history — is currently enjoying life in the spotlight once again, reprising his role of Willow Ufgood, in the Disney+ series based on his 1988 cult classic film Willow.

However, despite his success throughout four decades of stardom (and being recognized everywhere he goes — “It’s all about the selfies these days,” he says), he notes that he’s always remained humble. My wife would agree that I’m not a “diva!” He smiles and laughs.

It was also Samantha Davis, his wife who he credits with being a source for strength after he lost his firstborn son Lloyd, nine days after he was born, to complications resulting from the dwarfism genes that he inherited.

He said that he believes it brings them closer, or something similar to their shared tragedy. It’s a terrible experience that I would not wish on anyone. It’s devastating.”

He says, “You learn to live with it.” Over time, you will begin to understand the reasons behind it and can come to terms. But you never get over it.”

The Willow Agency is a talent agency that represents short actors. Unfortunately, Lloyd, the second baby they had named, was lost to miscarriage at twenty weeks. They welcomed Annabelle, a 26-year-old healthy girl, and Harrison, a son, in 1996.

Davis believes that the loss of a loved one has shaped their family dynamics. “We love Annabelle, Harrison more because they are here with us.” He said, “We will always remember what happened to George or Lloyd.” We will always be grateful for the brief time we had with them.”

Davis says the Davis family still lives together in London. They are very close-knit. Willow Together they filmed the series. (Samantha was a part of their “pod”, as they filmed during a pandemic; Harrison was Davis’s stand-in; Annabelle is his onscreen daughter Mims.

He explains how the series was created 34 years after the original film was released.

Davis, who has starred in each of the eight films, Harry Potter Films as Professor Flitwick, the goblin Griphook, and others Star Wars films is also the most popular supporting actor in the highest grossing films of all times. He shrugs off the praises.

He says, “My goal is to entertain people and transport them with my characters.” Davis enjoyed showing off his comedy side. Willow Jon Kadan, director, allowed him to improvise an incredible number of lines.

Davis says that “If we think about the movie, one of its strengths was that it was never a fancy-film that took itself too seriously.” “So, we loved to laugh wherever we could.”
