Voltalia won 1.1 gigawatts worth of long-term power sale contracts in 2022

Between 2021 and 2022, the plant’s capacity increased by +39% to 1129 to 1571 megawatts, while the capacity for plants under construction increased with +76%, from 580 megawatts to 1022 megawatts.

The fastest-growing technology is solar power, ground-mounted or rooftop. It now accounts for 44% and 83% respectively of the plants under construction.

Voltalia launched many projects in Europe, South Africa, and Brazil in 2022.

  • France: 81,8 megawatts solar and wind power were produced at the Montclar, Logelbach and Sud Vannier sites.

  • Italy’s Lercara Friddi Solar Power Plant has been launched with a capacity for 3.4 megawatts.

  • Voltalia in England has experienced an increase in its growth through the launch of the Clifton, Stockbridge solar projects. These solar projects have a total power of 90 megawatts.

  • The construction of the Garrido solar power plant complex in Portugal began in April. It has a total capacity 50.6 megawatts.

  • The Karavasta project in Albania was completed in July. It is the largest solar power station in the Western Balkans and has a capacity for 140 megawatts.

  • South Africa’s Bolobedu Solar Project was completed just two months following the Rio Tinto Group’s power sales contract. It will have a capacity of 148 megawatts.

  • Brazil launched three projects that used three technologies: The solar farm with SSM3-6, the windfarm with Canudos (capacity 260 megawatts), and, within Oiapoque, the hydroelectric power plant with Cafesoca (capacity 7.5 megawatts).

  • Helexia, a Voltalia affiliate, has begun construction of 141.6 Megawatts of solar shade and roofs across Europe (France Portugal Spain Italy Hungary and Spain).

In 2022, electricity sales contracts won

In 2002, the volume of long-term power sale contracts was 3.6 times higher than 2021, rising from 310 megawatts to 1128 megawatts.

The bulk of volumes won were attributed to solar energy, both rooftop and ground-mounted. Corporate PPAs, which are long-term agreements that link the producer (a Voltalia power station) to the end user of electricity (a large company), reached 75% of the total.

Voltalia has made significant progress in many of its countries.

  • Voltalia, France won 406.5 megawatts contracts. These were divided among wind, solar, and hydro.

  • Voltalia was awarded two contracts in England for 90 megawatts of solar energy.

  • Voltalia won several contracts in Portugal for 90.6 megawatts solar power.

  • Voltalia in Albania signed a 70-megawatt contract on the private market to supplement the 70 megawatts that were won in a public auction for the Karavasta Solar Plant.

  • Voltalia secured a contract worth 123 megawatts in Uzbekistan for a solar power station.

  • Voltalia was awarded a contract worth 148 megawatts for the Bolobedu Solar Project in South Africa.

  • Voltalia has secured a contract worth 7.5 megawatts for a Brazilian hydro power plant.

  • Helexia, which is a subsidiary Voltalia, has won a 192.3-megawatt contract in Europe for solar roofs. This includes Europe (France. Spain. Hungary. Romania. Poland.
