Gun Violence: The Way of Water
Many people have seen the sequel after it opened at the box office with a great success. Avatar: The Way of Water. Director James Cameron Recently, I spoke to Esquire Middle East He revealed that, despite the film being less than 3.5 hours long, he had actually cut 10 minutes due to gunplay.
The legendary director confessed that he had experienced a “bit of a crisis in faith” while putting the film together. It was too violent. It was too violent. I wanted to balance the beauty, the epiphany and the spiritual aspects of the film with the action. He said that the conflict was essential to the story but that he had “actually cut approximately 10 minutes of the movie focusing on gunplay action.” He explained that he had to deal with the dilemma of those scenes and said, “Violence or action are the same thing depending on how you view it.” This is the dilemma that every action filmmaker faces, and I’m well-known as an action filmmaker.
Cameron’s reflections on the violence in his films are shocking. Cameron is famous for many iconic sequences of violence from film history, including his. Terminator Rambo movies. He continued,
“I look back on some films that I’ve made, and I don’t know if I would want to make that film now. I don’t know if I would want to fetishize the gun, like I did on a couple of Terminator movies 30-plus years ago, in our current world. I find it hard to stomach what’s going on with guns in today’s society.
I am happy to live in New Zealand, where assault rifles were banned two weeks ago after the horrific shooting at the mosque a few years back.
