Terre Haute house owner shoots, kills intruder

Jan. 22—A Terre Haute house owner shot and killed an intruder, and a second suspect was arrested in an early Sunday morning incident on Fruitridge Avenue, police stated.

Officers about 5:30 a.m. have been dispatched to a house in 200 block of N. Fruitridge on a report back to Vigo County Central Dispatch {that a} house owner had simply shot an intruder of their dwelling. A second individual with the intruder had fled on foot.

The alleged intruder was decided to be lifeless on the scene, police stated, and officers positioned the second individual hiding in a neighboring yard. That individual was detained.

Detectives and crime scene technicians proceed to research.

There isn’t a hazard to the group, the Terre Haute Police Division stated on its Fb web page. No additional info was launched Sunday morning as a result of persevering with investigation, police stated.
