Serbia’s Vucic declares that the Serbs of northern Kosovo will remove barricades

BELGRADE, (Reuters) – Serbs living in northern Kosovo have blocked roads for 19 days as a protest against the detention of a former cop. They will now begin removing the barricades in the morning, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced Wednesday evening.

It is a slow process. After meeting Serbs of northern Kosovo in Raska, Vucic stated that it will take time.

Dejan Pantic (an ex-policeman whose arrest provoked violent protests by Kosovo’s Serb minority), was released and placed under house arrest following a request from the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday.
