There were no injuries in the Dickinson crash

Jan. 6—DICKINSON — A vehicle struck a pole near Rocky Butte Park on Thursday evening. The pole was knocked sideways and emergency services had to close the road to help stabilize it.

According to Dickinson Police Lieutenant Mike Hanel, Friday’s crash did not seem to have caused any injuries. The official police report is still incomplete. He blamed icy roads for the accident and did not know of any other contributing factors.

Hanel said that Rocky Butte Hill is prone to becoming a bit treacherous. “People are often taken by surprise by the rapidly changing road conditions up there.”

Multiple agencies responded to the call, including Dickinson Police Department and Dickinson Fire Department.

MDU spokesperson Mark Hanson stated that the crew spent a little more than three hours on-site to stub it. This will keep it safe until it is replaced completely. “We will do our best to replace the pole next week.”

Hanson reported that crews were capable of stabilizing the pole without any disruptions to electricity.

Chief Jeremy Presnell, Dickinson Fire Department, stated that his crews responded to the call and prevented traffic from reaching the area.

Hanel stated that no additional information was available Friday.
