Nets’ Kyrie Irving discusses what playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers was like
Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving He has proven over the years to be a thoughtful individual as well as a skilled basketball player. He is intelligent, despite his controversial opinions.
Even after scoring 32 points in a 125-117 He won Monday’s victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers but he never forgot his roots. The Cavaliers took the former Duke Blue Devil with the #1 pick in 2011 NBA draft. He had to learn quickly.
Irving learned how to be a professional on the fly after LeBron, the future Hall of Famer, left for the Miami Heat in 2010. He still looks back with joy at those memories and many others. Irving talked postgame about how it feels to come back home to Cleveland.
“A bunch (memories). My only draft workout was in Cleveland. It was amazing how much pressure I put on myself after LeBron James left. Now, I have to learn the ropes. It’s impossible to know if I will ever live up to this billing, but I put that pressure on my self to fill in some shoes that weren’t meant for me. I just wanted to create my own legacy.”
Before Wednesday’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, the Nets had won 13 of their 14 previous games.
