NBA suspends Pistons’ Killian Hayes 3 times, Magic’s Moe Wagner2 games after fight

After the incident at Little Caesars Arena, the league issued punishments Thursday night. Guard the Pistons Killian Hayes Moe Wagner, Magic forward, was suspended for three games. Wagner was also suspended for two games.
Guard the pistons Hamidou Diallo received a one-game suspension for his role in the altercation, too, along with eight different Magic players — who were all suspended for leaving the bench area once the incident began.
That group of players — Cole Anthony, R.J. Hampton, Gary Harris, Kevon Harris, Admiral SchofieldFranz Wagner, Mo Bamba Wendell Carter Jr. — will serve their suspensions on a staggered basis so that the Magic have enough players to compete.
The When Wagner and Hayes chased down a loose ball backcourt, it was Detroit. As they neared the Pistons bench, Wagner hit Hayes with a hip-check that sent him falling to the floor — which prompted a quick response from Hayes, who jumped right back up and punched Wagner in the back of the head.
This blow caused Wagner to fall hard into the Pistons bench, prompting a larger altercation behind him.
The group was eventually split up by officials and coaches, and Wagner and Hayes were both ejected. Diallo was also ejected after he shoved Wagner in front of the punch.
Pistons coach The coaches who ran to the scene after the game were clearly unhappy with the way it escalated.
Casey: “I was upset because my understanding of the rule was that when you leave your benches to get into an altercation you are escalating.” .
“My problem is that there were words being spoken, things being said and actions being taken by their coaches, but they were not deescalating it… To have no one ejected [other than Moe Wagner]I must go back and get an explanation. This is how things get bad. It could have been worse. They didn’t deescalate the situation, I feel that.
At halftime, the Pistons led by 17 points. This ended a losing streak of six games. Alec Burks Detroit lost 32 points on the bench Saddiq Bey 28 points and eight rebounding from the bench were added.
