MSU beat reporter, columnist breakdown Spartans’ loss at Illinois on Friday

Michigan State’s lengthy winning streak has been snapped.

The Spartans could not hold onto a nine-point lead against Illinois in the second quarter on Friday night and fell to the Fighting Illini, 76-66. This loss ends a seven-game winning streak for the Spartans, and brings them to 12-5 overall. They are also now 4-2 in conference play.
