Major outages are still being reported in Warren and Miami Counties

Update at 1:50 AM ET, Dec. 24:

Thousands of people were without power following this week’s winter storm with dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills.

A spokesperson from AES Ohio said that power companies worked night and day to restore electricity to their customers. News Center 7 was informed by an AES Ohio spokesperson.

According to statistics from Ohio Edison, 1,461 customers were without power Friday at 11:45.

According to Duke Energy’s outage statistics, the company was able restore power to approximately 400 residents of Warren County. This dropped their 1,266 reported outages down to 839.

According to AES Ohio statistics, they were able to restore power for about 200 people in Montgomery County. Their outage by counties statistics showed that the number went up from 349 down to 112.

Major outages remain in Miami County, with customers still using AES Ohio (736 reported outages) or Warren County using Duke Energy (839 reported outages).

Authorities recommend that you report any downed power lines immediately.

Thousands of people were without power following this week’s winter storm with dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills.

According to an internet outage map, about 1,600 AES Ohio customers reported outages at 11:45 PM.

More than 1,900 Duke Energy Ohio customers reported being without power.

“Our crews are out there working in these conditions,” Kabel said while noting that the crews have appreciated seeing fewer people out on the roads.
