Lightning extends 2-year contract to rookie D Nick Perbix

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay Lightning rookie defenseman Nick Perbix signed a $2.25 million, two-year contract extension on Monday.

Perbix is 24 years old and has scored three goals, five assists, as well as being plus-8 in 29 of his games this season. He is tied for the second most Lightning defensemen goals and is fourth in scoring.

In the 2017 draft, Perbix was selected by Tampa Bay as a sixth-round selection, 169th overall. Before the start of the 2017 season, Perbix, a native of Elk River, Minnesota signed a one year, entry-level contract for the Lightning.
