LaVine scores 41 points on Bulls’ win against 76ers, hitting 11 3s

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Zach LaVine made 11 of 13 3-pointers and scored 41 points and the Chicago Bulls beat Philadelphia 126-112 on Friday night to end the 76ers’ home winning streak at 11.

LaVine scored three 3-pointers in under a minute to give Chicago a lead of 88-74 with 3:33 remaining in the third quarter. He fell two short of his career record for 3-pointers.

Nikola Vucevic was a triple-doubler for the Bulls. He had 19 points and 18 rebounds as well as 10 assists. Chicago shot 57.1% from beyond the arc and was 20-of-34 from 3-point range.

Vucevic took advantage of Philadelphia’s undersized center tandem of PJ Tucker and Montrezl Harrell with Joel Embiid missing his second straight game because of soreness in his left foot.

Tyrese Maxiey scored 26 points and had six assists for the 76ers. This was his best performance since Dec. 30, when he returned to the lineup. Maxey’s previous three games, which were his first since returning from a fractured ankle that left him sidelined for six weeks, saw him average 12.7 points and shoot 37.5% from beyond the arc.

Tobias Harris had 22 points, while Harrell added 17. James Harden also had 17 points — on 4-of-17 shooting — and 11 assists

Chicago went on a 28-11 run in the second quarter to erase a Philadelphia lead of 13 points.
