Kilde storms to Wengen, winning the downhill victory ahead of Odermatt

Aleksander Aamodt Kilde of Norway won back-toback wins in Wengen, defeating Marco Odermatt of Switzerland in the men’s World Cup downhill. This was just one day after winning the super G.

Kilde was also a winner at the Swiss resort’s downhill last year and finished 0.88 seconds ahead of Odermatt, the overall World Cup leader.

Italy’s Mattia casse came in third at 1.01secs behind World Cup Downhill leader Kilde.

High wind caused the race’s start to be cut short.

Beat Feuz, a three time Wengen winner from Switzerland, was fifth in his home race at 1.25sec.

With a lead of 340 points over Kilde, Odermatt is leading the overall World Cup standings.
