Emily Maynard Johnson Is celebrating her first Christmas as mother to six!
Jones West, her newest addition, was joined by siblings Nola Belle (2, Gatlin (5, Gibson (6, and Jennings (7, respectively) for a family trip at Dollywood to celebrate. Ricki, her 17-year-old daughter, is also her mom.

Maynard Johnson was able to open about 20 stores in November. feeling “grateful” After she welcomed her baby boy.
Maynard Johnson was informed shortly after her delivery that her son had Down Syndrome and a rare congenital intestinal abnormality. Maynard Johnson also needed surgery. Maynard Johnson also spent a month in hospital’s neonatal intensive medical unit (NICU).
Maynard Johnson recalls being shocked when she was informed that Down syndrome had been diagnosed. A blood test confirmed the diagnosis later. (Maynard Johnson chose not to have genetic testing done during her pregnancy. “It wasn’t on my radar at all. It was unbelievable to me. I wanted to hold him, and everything to be okay.”

Maynard Johnson said that it was difficult to accept the fact her son would be in the NICU for several weeks and she had to leave him there. “I was just grieving it all and that the experience was so unlike what I expected. It was so painful to wake up in the morning and hear the children crying out down the hall while I was alone in my room.
Maynard Johnson stated that things improved once she was able bring Jones home and spend some time with him. Jones “just folded in to all the other crazyness.”
“He’s awesome. She shared that he is sleeping and is the most gentle baby she has ever seen. He is so chilled. He gets along with all my kids.

Maynard Johnson explained that she was still learning about Down syndrome but is trying to just be Jones. Jones is Jones and not different from any other child. “I have no expectations. He is perfect, so everything is going to work out great.”
