Doc Rivers sends Bills safety Damar Hammer best wishes and prayers

PHILADELPHIA–The sports world was at a bit of a standstill on Monday as the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals were caught in a very scary moment on the field.

Damar Hamlin, Bills safety, tackled Tee Higgins, Bengals receiver. He then got back up and collapsed on the field. While the players watched in shock, he received CPR and an AED.

As they should, the NFL postponed it. Coach Doc Rivers started his pregame presser with a message to Hamlin and well-wishes.

“I hate to start on a heavy note, but watching what’s going on with Damar Hamlin, prayers out for him,” said Rivers. “That’s tough. It’s tough when you see that in sports or in anything. That’s a hard one.”

Hamlin’s friend and marketing rep, Jordan Rooney, gave an update on Hamlin’s condition.
