Colts rise to the top-five in 2023 NFL Draft

Following their fifth consecutive loss Monday night—a 20-3 defeat against the Los Angeles Chargers—the Indianapolis Colts currently hold the No. 5 overall pick in NFL Draft 2023.

Jeff Saturday, interim head coach, hasn’t won since Week 10, against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Colts continue their slide towards the bottom of this league.

The Colts have a top-five draft pick because of the Los Angeles Rams’ win over the Denver Broncos in Week 16.

It will be interesting how the offseason goes. There are many options for the Colts with a top-five selection. They may be able to land a future quarterback or even a top-five pick.

They will need to hire a new coach, with Chris Ballard being the general manager for this offseason (for now). This could impact the direction they take during the draft.

Their Week 17 opponent, the New York Giants, will be vying for a playoff spot so there’s a good chance that losing streak extends to six games.

We’ll see just how the draft order looks at the end of the season, but Colts fans will have just two more games before this season mercifully ends.
