Chiefs clinched AFC’s No. Chiefs beat Raiders to become the No. 1 seed in Week 18.

With their Week 18 win over the Las Vegas Raiders (31-13), the Kansas City Chiefs have achieved a key goal within the AFC playoff race.

After clinching a playoff berth and the AFC West division back in Week 15, they’ve also now clinched the No. They are now the No. 1 seed at the AFC conference. That means, they’ll receive the coveted bye week in the first round of the playoffs. You should keep in mind that only one team from each conference can get a bye to begin the playoffs. The Chiefs were No. The Chiefs were the No. 2 seed in last year’s playoffs and last year they were the No. 1 seed in AFC in 2020

The No. 1 seed was made easier with the Week 17 game between the Bills-Bengals being declared a “no contest.” As a result, NFL owners approved changes to the 2022 playoffsKansas City’s status as No. 1 seed could be affected by such changes. 1 seed. A smaller note is that the Chiefs also achieved a sweep in the AFC West with the win over Las Vegas. The Chiefs have six wins against the Raiders as well as the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Los Angeles Chargers combined. That’s no easy feat in and should again put the league on notice that the AFC West still is Kansas City’s to lose.
