The prospect of an American soft landing has increased since fall 2022

Jan 5, (Reuters) – James Bullard, President of St. Louis Federal Reserve, stated that the odds are higher that the U.S. economy will escape a recession in this year despite central bank tightening.
“I think the probability of a soft landing has increased compared to where it was in the fall of 2022,” Bullard told reporters after a speech. According to Bullard, the Fed’s unexpected resilience is a positive thing because it allows them more time to take action and lower high levels inflation. (Reporting by Michael S.
