Tony Iommi announced that he’s going to begin work on his new album in a New Year’s Day update.

The message contains the following: Black Sabbath Guitarist reflects on his reunion with Ozzy Osbourne Here is a quick performance the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham He also paid tribute to Mike Clement, his guitar tech friend, who passed away in November.

During the eight-minute videoIommi revealed that his recording studio is close to completion and is excited to begin work on the new record in the coming months.

“The studio is built, and it’s almost ready to go,” says Tony in the message, transcribed by Blabbermouth.net. “I just need some equipment. Because of the war [in Ukraine]It has stopped some parts from coming through. But we are getting close. In the next few weeks, I believe I will be ready to go into that place and get to work. This is something I look forward to… writing another record.

Black Sabbath’s studio albums with Tony Martin will be reissued in the coming year. Five studio albums were released by Martin and the band: The Eternal Idol (1987), Cross without Head (1989), Tyr (1990), Cross-purposes (1994) Forbidden (1995).

Tony says, “I look forward to that because a lot people have asked about it, which is great.” They wanted to know when it would be out. These albums have been released in sequence.

“So, all the original Sabbath stuff has come out in box sets and then there’s the new one. Dio stuff. Next up will be Tony Martin, then my solo stuff. So expect to be busy again. It’s wonderful. It’s great to do interviews, talk about our experiences, and all that stuff.

In closing, the guitarist wished all his fans well and suggested a live performance in the near future. “Anyway. Happy new year to everyone and I hope you see me sometime on tour. Thank you so much for your support throughout the years. I truly appreciate it.”

In February 2017, Black Sabbath finished ‘The End’ tour in Birmingham, closing out the quartet’s groundbreaking 49-year career. ‘The End’ was Sabbath’s last tour because Iommi — who was diagnosed with lymphoma in late 2011 — can no longer travel for extended amounts of time.

In early 2012, Iommi announced his diagnosis of cancer. This was shortly after Sabbath had announced a reunion tour. During the recording of the disc (titled 13), and subsequent tour to promote the album, Iommi was treated.
