Hot button questions we’re asking about Texas football

We’re nearing the end of another Texas football season. The future is uncertain, despite many answers.

Texas has produced one of the best recruiting classes since 2010. This class is certainly one of the most diverse we’ve ever seen.

Texas has a lot of talent, as the roster shows. On the heels of a three-win improvement, the Longhorns figure to build of the 2022 season’s successes. Many are worried about players who may leave.

We’ve addressed the non-story that was made a story about the status of Xavier Worthy’s return. If you were apprised of all Worthy’s statements from the day, what he said These should all be alleviated.

Let’s look at how to feel about the biggest questions facing the program.

How confident do you feel about Xavier Worthy returning to your home?

90 percent.

If you had asked me sooner, I would have answered 75 percent. The more I reflect on Worthy’s words and consider how close he is to Steve Sarkisian, I feel more confident that he will return. Xavier is Sarkisian’s guy. Sark’s biggest recruit has been a major part of the foundation for his early success. Texas will show him how important he’s to the program.

How confident do you feel about Jaylan Ford returning?

90 percent.

Jaylan Ford is glowing about the program. I find it hard to believe he is finished at Texas. Ford and Worthy are both possible errors. I tend to be optimistic. Ford has shown me everything that I can see and leads the defense.

Will Quinn succeed in Texas?

He will, I believe.

Experts agreed almost unanimously that Arch Manning and Ewers were both elite prospects. Both could end up with successful careers in Texas. Maalik Murphy looks like a potential NFL player to me.

No one knows the final outcome of the depth chart. Ewers will most likely win the starting position and could be a breakout season in Texas in 2023.

Are bowl games a must-win?

While it’s not what anyone wants, Texas must win. After missing the Big 12 championship, the Longhorns now have the chance to win nine games. A bowl win would help build a strong team for 2023.
