Dabo Swinney on what he’s seen in first week of Clemson fall camp

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney talks with media in the Smart Family Media Center in Clemson, Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

Clemson concluded its sixth practice of fall camp Tuesday.

Afterwards, coach Dabo Swinney spoke to the media and shared an update on what he’s seen from his team through the first week of camp — including Cade Klubnik‘s development heading into his second full season at quarterback, as well as some high praise for freshman receivers TJ Moore and Bryant Wesco.

“Just finished the sixth practice,” Swinney said in his opening remarks. “Last couple of days, been in shells and (Wednesday) we’ll get our first day in full pads and we’ll mix in a little bit of live (Wednesday), some short yardage and goal line. We’ve been getting some of our situational work done these past couple days in pads as we get ready to scrimmage on Saturday.

“Just grinding through camp. Guys have shown up. Of the six days, probably only one that I feel like we didn’t really bring it like I wanted us, but other than that they’ve come out and competed each and every day. Still lots to do, lot to improve on, but they’re putting the work in.”

Here’s everything Swinney said after Tuesday’s practice.
