Emmerdale New Year spoilers – Cain hopes for freedom
Will Cain agree to Caleb’s shock idea on Emmerdale Next week? Plus Leyla’s drug habit resurfaces.

Is Cain going to change his mind?
Moira remains torn about Caleb’s plan to help her and Amy, as she knows that Cain will never talk to her again if she accepts the offer.
The two women soon agree that Kyle was trying to protect his father and that it is best for Kyle to confess this. However, when Cain then discovers that Caleb’s lawyers are being used to help Kyle, he’s left incensed.

Elsewhere, Chas is left chilled when she sees Kyle for the first time since learning of his involvement in Al’s death. She is moved to tears when she hears his sincere apology. Matty is frustrated that Amy is not getting over Kyle’s treatment. Finally, when Liam visits Cain in jail and tries to get him to rethink his situation, he finds Cain adamant that he won’t change his mind.
Leyla gets drugs
Leyla is one of the stressed individuals. There are two things that stress Leyla: first, the pressures at work. Then, there’s her divorce that needs sorting. And finally there’s the fact that she’s discovered what happened between Bernice and Liam on New Year’s Eve.
As an argument breaks out, Leyla tells Liam that she doesn’t want him anywhere near her. As she becomes upset and agitated, Leyla calls Callum, a drug dealer to arrange a purchase.
He, initially at least, thinks that he’s being lured into a trap. Leyla eventually purchases a stash but is then captured with it at Tug Ghyll. Jacob formulates a plan for how to handle the situation.
Bernice has plans for the B&B
Brenda and Pollard are both retiring – news which results in Bernice coming up with some plans for the B&B that impress Eric.
After a difficult few weeks, Bernice is now feeling more optimistic after landing a new job. But a curveball comes in the form of Mandy, who insists that Bernice needs to work her one month’s notice at the Salon.
When Bernice then plots to take Wendy and Bob’s business away from the Salon, Mandy fires her on the spot. But in doing so, might she have played exactly into Bernice’s hands?
Naomi offers advice to April
April’s spirits are bolstered thanks to a pep talk from Naomi regarding Arthur. But Marlon and Rhona can’t help but be left exasperated by April’s attitude.
Rhona then sees April with bright nail varnish and notices the influence Naomi has on her. And soon enough, Rhona is confronting Naomi about what she sees as the negative effect of her advice…
Dawn’s big decision
Nicky seems to be settling in well with her children, but Dawn feels wistful because she missed out on all the fun that the new nanny had with Clemmie (and Lucas) while she was at work.
Dawn is soon feeling guilty at the thought that Clemmie might not be there when she gets her power-dressed for a meeting. As her feelings of anxiety mount, Dawn makes a drastic decision, but it’s one that leaves her and Kim at loggerheads.
