Here’s What Netflix’s Showrunners for “Wednesday” Think We’ll See In Season 2

Her interpretation of the iconic Addams Family The character was loved by fans on TikTok and received critical acclaim. The Netflix hit’s first season features Wednesday discovering her psychic abilities. She prevents a massacre that has terrorized Nevermore Academy. She also makes friends — and enemies — along the way as she investigates a supernatural mystery involving her parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams, 25 years ago.

If you binge-watched every minute of it all, Wednesday during Thanksgiving break and are wondering when to expect more, we’ve got you covered. Here’s everything we know about season two of Netflix’s Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega.

Is there a possibility of a Wednesday Season 2?

Since the very first season, everyone has given thanks to the Addams families. Wednesday Just in time for Thanksgiving, the news was announced. However, there’s no word from Netflix on the renewal for season 2 just yet. Leading lady Jenna Ortega admitted to NME that she has “no idea” about the future of the series.

Interview conducted December 14, with VarietyPeter Friedlander, a Netflix executive, briefly spoke about the possibility of a second season. “You may know what I’m going to say — but I have nothing to confirm at this time,” Friedlander, who heads the streamer’s U.S. and Canada scripted series, said. “I am optimistic about Wednesday. We’ll leave it at that.”

We are also optimistic about a second season. And it seems we can hold out hope that we’ll return to Nevermore Academy, as co-creator Alfred Gough recently told Empire, “[Screenwriter] Miles [Millar] It’s something that I and you are discussing amongst yourselves. There’s definitely more that you can explore in the world of the Addamses.”

Interview with Cathy in November 2022 Variety, Gough and Miller teased that they’ve laid out three or four seasons of the series in hopes of it getting renewed. “For us, it’s always looking at the future, and when we sit down to create a show, it’s looking at multiple seasons, ideally. That’s never expected, but that’s the anticipation that hopefully, the show is successful,” Millar told the publication, confirming that they have a “pretty clear runway of what [they] want to do in future seasons.”

Fred Armisen, the Netflix actor who plays Uncle Fester, expressed his desire for a second season. “I thought that’s good writing to keep people wanting more,” he shared in an interview with E! NewsComment on the season 1 cliffhanger finale. “I think that’s difficult. Even as something that’s supposed to continue on, they did a really good job of keeping it exciting.” Gwendoline Christie, who stars as Larissa Weems, echoed Armisen’s sentiments. “I just love that it leaves you wanting more,” she told E!. “It leaves you absolutely hungry to see how this story’s going to develop.”

When does Wednesday Season 2 out now?

The first season of Tim Burton’s highly anticipated Netflix series was recently released on November 23, 2022, so there’s no telling when (or if) there will be a second season. According to Nielsen, the premiere week of the show was record-breaking. Deadline, surpassing 341 million hours viewed. To begin production on another season, it will need to be authorized by the streaming site.

What will? Wednesday What will season 2 look like?

The first season Wednesday As a Nevermore Academy student, she took viewers into Wednesday Addams’ world. She discovers her psychic abilities, tries to solve a chilling crime involving her parents, balances relationships with sirens and werewolves, as well as the vampires at her new school.

At the end of the season, she discovers that her coffee shop crush and the Sheriff’s son, Tyler, is actually the Hyde monster who committed merciless murders at Nevermore. Marilyn Thornhill was actually a botany professor at the school. This discovery was made years before she died. She was determined to take revenge on the Outcasts who had killed her family. Tyler was controlled by Hyde masters and hypnotized into his monstrous form. Wednesday and Bianca, her frenemy and foe, defeat Laurel’s evil accomplices.

However, Wednesday isn’t totally in the clear. When her friend, Xavier, gifts her a cell phone, she receives a threatening message that reads, “I’m watching you” with a gif of a knife going into her head. It’s likely that this is a setup for the plot of season two if the series gets renewed by Netflix.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunners Gough and Miller teased the premise of the possible season, saying, “We wanna sort of explore and sort of complicate all of those relationships going forward. The school was closed when they left, which gave us the most possibilities for season two, and I think that’s something that we’re excited to explore.”

The showrunners also consider Wednesday’s roommate Enid an integral part of the show’s premise. Gough explained that “The show also focuses on female friendships, with Wednesday’s roommate Enid at the heart of that.” “The fact that they truly connected with audience members, it has been very gratifying. So, we’re excited to explore now that Wednesday’s dipped her toe into the friendship pool, what’s that gonna look like? It’s like, she hugged. That was her big arc, right? So it’s like now, we do that.”

“Then, the other thing that’s really interesting is to continue to explore the Wednesday-Morticia mother-daughter relationship as well,” Gough added, “Which now that Morticia knows about the power, it has given her sort of an idea of how that’s going to go. How is their relationship going to evolve?”

What has the cast to say about this? Wednesday Season 2?

Molnar stated that it would be a great idea to investigate what might have happened to cause him to be separated. “I think that’d be — it was an idea that was floating around, and it would be fantastic to explore that for sure. For us, any character with that central figure, we are ready to assume the helm and tell his story. We’re open for anything.

Jenna Ortega revealed her hopes for Season 2 of the show. Wednesday, and her answer is really simple — more darkness.

Talk to Entertainment TonightJenna stated that she wanted Jenna to be darker and added that Wednesday would not “play it so safe” in season 2. Jenna stated that there are many lines about her saving school and doing whatever she can, but her main drive is competitiveness. “Kindly think, ‘Man. How’s this guy doing that? “Kind of, ‘Man, how is this guy doing that?'”

Who is coming back to? Wednesday Season 2?

While we still don’t know if Wednesday It is expected that Season 2 will air on TV. We can only assume that all of the cast members from Season 1 will be returning.

At the end of, there were many deaths Wednesday season one, which means those characters likely won’t return for season two if it happens. Christina Ricci and Riki Lindhomoe were some of the characters who lost their lives.

Interview with Cathy in November 2022 Variety, showrunner Alfred Gough teased Tyler’s return in season 2. “Yeah. Absolutely. He’s out there. That’s what we wanted to convey,” he told the publication.

Wednesday’Miles Millar was also the showrunner. TV Line that he’d like to explore more of the Addams family dynamic if the show gets renewed for a second season.

“We felt like we just touched the surface with those characters and the actors are so amazing in those roles,” he said. “Catherine [Zeta-Jones] This is, I believe, an iconic Morticia. The relationship between Wednesday and Morticia is also essential to the show, and the idea that Wednesday is trying to forge her own path outside the family is important.”
