Updated 2-round mock draft after Week 3
We are headed into Week Four of the NFL season, so it is time for a huge update to our 2024 NFL mock draft. We went with two rounds this time around and thanks to every team having three games in the books, the draft order is completely different than anything we had been using to this point. This means lots of new names in the places this time around.
A few spoilers about this latest update. Five quarterbacks go off the board in the first round and sorry but no running backs this time around.
1 – Chicago Bears – WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State
2 – Denver Broncos – QB Caleb Williams, USC
The rebuild in Denver starts at quarterback with Caleb Williams.
3 – Minnesota Vikings – QB Michael Penix Jr., Washington
The Vikings get their future franchise quarterback in Michael Penix Jr.
4 – Chicago Bears – CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alabama
Chicago goes back on the clock and lands the top cornerback in the draft.
5 – Los Angeles Chargrers – TE Brock Bowers, Georgia
Bowers is a generational type of talent at tight end and a perfect fit for the Chargers.
6 – Las Vegas Raiders – QB Drake Maye, North Carolina
Drake Maye is too good for the Raiders to pass up at No. 6.
7 – Arizona Cardinals – DL Jer’Zhan Newton, Illinois
With a run on quarterbacks, the Cardinals opt for the top interior defensive lineman in the draft instead.
Nabers has quickly worked his way to the top of the first round with his all-around game.
9 – Cincinnati Bengals – OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu, Penn State
Kalen King is a lockdown cornerback with elite speed to bolter the Jaguars secondary.
Not a sexy pick but Alt is an elite run blocker and pass protector for the Patriots.
13 – Arizona Cardinals – WR Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State
Egbuka hasn’t had a fast starter but his traits are still elite.
14 – New York Giants – EDGE Jared Verse, Florida State
Another case of teams selecting need first and letting an elite prospect fall too far.
15 – Los Angeles Rams – DT Leonard Taylor III, Miami
Leonard Taylor is a massive interior defender with an amazing first step and impressive power.
Cooper DeJean is a perfect hybrid cornerback/safety for the Saints with his elite speed.
The Bucs roll the dice on the biggest wildcard in the draft.
The Cowboys love explosive defenders who can move around the formation and Latu fits the bill.
20 – Houston Texans – WR Keon Coleman, Florida State
The Texans are building a great young offense and Coleman is a serious weapon for CJ Stroud.
21 – Buffalo Bills – OT Graham Barton, Duke
Barton is the hard-nosed blocker the Bills need to help out Josh Allen and the Bills run game.
With Chase Young’s future up in the air, the Commanders add Chop Robinson to rush the passer.
Smith is an athletic big man who can really get after the quarterback.
24 – Baltimore Ravens – DB Kamren Kinchens, Miami
The Ravens love to draft defense and draft great athletes so Kinchens makes perfect sense.
25 – Detroit Lions – CB Josh Newton, TCU
Long, fluid mover with excellent ball skills.
The Chiefs cannot ignore the need for a wide receiver and Mitchell brings the deep speed they miss.
27 – Atlanta Falcons – EDGE Dallas Turner, Alabama
Another excellent edge defender who slips a little and could be a bargain.
Powerful run blocker with a ton of experience against top defenders.
Defensive leader and natural NFL safety who can cover and press against the run.
The Eagles roster allows them to draft the top-rated player on the board in Barrett Carter.
31 – Miami Dolphins – T Amarius Mims, Georgia
Best pure right tackle prospect in the draft and powerful run blocker for those Miami running backs.
Press-man specialist who tracks the football well and isn’t shy about contact.
