Bucs win 19-16 against Cardinals in overtime to complete a late comeback

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers proved that it was better late than not for them, winning a fourth-quarter comeback against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday night. They won overtime 19-16.

Ryan Succop’s 40-yard field goal gave the Bucs the walk-off win in the extra period, as the Tampa Bay defense came up with big stops in key moments to help give the offense the opportunity to overcome their struggles late in the game.

Tampa Bay trailed by 16 points in the fourth quarter. However, a touchdown pass from Tom Brady to rookie running back RachaadWhite cut the lead to three points. Succop’s 42-yard field goal tied the game with 2:17 left in regulation.

Brady ended the game with 281 yards, including a touchdown through the air. This was despite two costly interceptions in Arizona Territory earlier in the game.

The Cardinals forced overtime against Bucs despite having Trace McSorley, third-stringer, at quarterback. Kyler and Colt McCoy were both injured. The Penn State product ended his night with 217 yard and an interception through aerial, along with 14 yards of rushing.

Despite another poor performance by the offense, Tampa Bay is still in first place in the NFC South. With a win against the Carolina Panthers next week, Tampa Bay will have a chance at back-to-back division titles, and a third consecutive trip to the playoffs.
