“The current conversation around nepo babies is just designed for trying to denigrate, hurt and diminish,” she said.
“For the record, I have navigated 44 year with the benefits my associated and reflected fame brought to me, I don’t pretend that there aren’t any, but they try to tell me that my value is zero on my own. It’s amazing how easily we assume and make ignorant remarks about people who are famous in their fields of art.
I have learned that this is not true. I’ve been able to show up for work with thousands upon thousands of people, and I’ve always tried to bring integrity, professionalism, love, community and art to my work.”
