Chrissy Teigen and John Legend welcome new baby: ‘What a blessed day’
Oh, baby! Chrissy Teigen was just announcing the birth of their fourth child with John Legend. John Legend shared his happy news with the crowd at a private concert on Friday night.
According to PEOPLE Legend has it that the baby was conceived in January 2013.
“What a blessed day,” he said.
He added that while he “didn’t get a lot of sleep” he “feels energized” after spending “a lot of time” at the hospital. He and Teigen have yet to share details about the baby’s sex or photos of their newest member of the family.
The happy couple have already given birth to Luna, 6 years, and Miles, 4 years. Teigen, 37, announced her baby in August. This was almost two years after Teigen had been married. loss of her son Jack, who was stillborn.
In February 2022, she posted the first time on Instagram that she was having IVF. This was after her heartbreaking loss to baby Jack. Late summer saw her post an official social media announcement, confirming her pregnancy and sharing sweet photos that highlighted her bump.

Teigen has always been very candid about her IVF journey—all of her children were conceived via IVF. In the photos you can see her bruising, which started a much-needed discussion online about the part of IVF people don’t mention as much—injection bruising.
She captioned her post with, “1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as you can see!) Another is on the horizon. Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing.”
