Alabama adds Southern Miss DC to its coaching staff

ESPN’s Pete Thamel Reporting that Nick Saban Alabama Crimson Tide has hired Austin Armstrong, Southern Miss’ defensive coordinator, to its coaching staff.

According to the report Armstrong is expected be an on-field Coach for the Crimson Tide.

Armstrong served as the Hattiesburg defensive coordinator the past two years. He was the youngest defense coordinator when he was first hired in 2021.

Armstrong’s leadership led to steady improvements in the defense of Southern Miss

Armstrong, an Alabama native, was a graduate assistant under Dan Lanning and Kirby Smart.

Roll Tide Wire will monitor the situation of Tuscaloosa’s coaching staff.
