After being shot in the Dayton apartment complex, suspect is taken into custody

A shooting occurred near an apartment complex in Dayton early Saturday morning.

Dayton Police, Fire, EMS, and Fire were called to the 1000 block Danner Avenue at approximately 5:50 a.m., after a person was wounded, a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch spokesperson stated to News Center 7.

The spokesperson stated that CPR was performed by Medics on the victim after officers arrived at the scene.

The victim was not taken to a nearby hospital as CPR was being administered at the scene by medical personnel during questioning.

It is unknown at this time if the victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

According to the spokesperson, officers took the suspect into custody.

It is unknown at this time if the suspect was ever charged with any criminal offenses.
