The last thing I want to do is ruin another awards ceremony for Taylor Swift. But there’s no doubt that someone was badly off-key during the version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon” that the country superstar just performed with Stevie Nicks at the Grammy Awards. And I’m afraid my money’s on Taylor. Moreover, I’m not the only person at the Music Mix who cringed at the sight of Stevie acting as Taylor’s backing singer on “You Belong To Me.” As one of my colleagues just emailed me: “Stevie Nicks is the ‘Gold Dust Woman,’ goddammit!”
But, hey, that’s just one, uh, music department’s opinion. What did you think of the Swift/Stevie collaboration? Do we owe Taylor a “Kanye”-esque series of apologies?

Taylor Swift’s performance was TERRIBLE! & there was nothing about her duet with Stevie NIcks that made me ever want to buy her music. She was SO flat & ruined the song. I’m surprised there’s not more buzz about this. Was she missing an earpiece that would’ve helped her hear the instruments & Nicks?
I was mortified when I heard Taylor singing with the Queen of Rock. It was embarrassing that Stevie had to be subjected to that. What the hell was Taylor thinking? Oh wait, I can answer that. She couldn’t hear herself think because she was so off key. At any rate, yes, Taylor can play a guitar and write lyrics and compose but she never has has a great voice – this once again proves it. Lately it seems all of her songs and albums sound alike. What’s up with that? My final comment is to Taylor: “Leave Stevie Alone!….you never will be the caliber singer, writer, and performer that Ms. Nicks is!”
