Another trailer reveal at the Spike TV VGA broadcast was for Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Games’ follow-up to the hit game Batman: Arkham Asylum. Tentatively being called Arkham Asylum 2, the new game has no date at this time and we do not yet know what platforms it will be on, though I suspect PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms will all be supported.
From the trailer it appears that The Joker and Harlequin have opened Arkham Asylum up and let the inmates run through the streets of Gotham causing all kinds of destruction chaos and mayhem. The clip also shows a seriously ill Joker, who puts on a brave and crazy face for the camera – but is suffering from some sort of serious sickness.
The trailer and web site proclaim that “Arkham has moved,” but it seems to me that what it really means is that the game has moved out of the claustrophobic, tight spaces of the asylum and has spilled out to new locations in and around the facility as well as in Gotham. Perhaps i’m wrong but my gut tells me the sequel wants to seriously expand on what Batman is capable of doing.
We’ll have more on Batman Arkham Asylum 2 is new information becomes available. Find the teaser web site at www.arkhamhasmoved.com.
